Grant County Crime Stoppers is registered as a nonprofit corporation with the New Mexico Public Relations Commission and is tax exempt pursuant to Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax exempt to the full extent allowed by law.
Crime Stoppers is an all volunteer organization that receives no tax payer dollars for its work.
And because it operates with virtually no overhead and pays no salaries, all funds are used almost exclusively for rewards.
Funds come from donations from individuals and businesses in the community and court assessed donations.
Many of the Crime Stopper board members and officers have worked for the program unselfishly and with no compensation for over eight years.
